Investigation Into Theft Of Mail In Spring City Area Continues: Police
Authorities believe there are more victims and are asking the public to look closely to see if anything has been taken.

SPRING CITY, PA — Days after two Spring City residents were taken into custody on charges that they had stolen hundreds of pieces of mail from around the area, police are reminding the public that their investigation is not over.
Authorities in nearby Schuylkill Township, as well as other municipalities, are still building out their list of victims. If you believe you have been compromised, contact your local police station.
Joshua Lee Hartmann, 41, and Jessica Michelle Zipkin, 33 were charged last week by Tredyffrin Township Police. In addition to Tredyffrin and Spring City, the pair stole mail in Malvern, Lower Providence, Upper Providence, Schuylkill Township, and Phoenixville. Nearly 800 pieces of mail have been confirmed stolen thus far.

In some cases, the pair used the information gained from thefts to change crucial drivers license information of victims in an attempt to steal their identity. One person was not able to vote in the last election because of the changes.
Spring City and Schuylkill Township police worked with the Secret Service, the US Postal Inspector's Office, and agencies in Montgomery and Chester counties to identify Hartmann and Zipkin.

Residents are urged to monitor their financial statements from banks, credit card companies, and more for any suspicious activity due to the nature of the crimes, police said. Additionally, police said residents may want to run credit histories to ensure they weren't victims of this theft operation.
