Jenna Antoniewicz Elected First Female Mayor Of Royersford
Breaking: Jenna Antoniewicz has been elected the next mayor of Royersford. She is the first woman ever elected to the position.

ROYERSFORD, PA — Election results in Montgomery County are beginning to trickle in, and Jenna Antoniewicz has been elected the next mayor of Royersford. She is the first woman to ever be elected to the position.
Antoniewicz, a Democrat, earned 63.7 percent of the vote to defeat incumbent mayor and Republican John K. Guest, who earned 36.17 percent. Guest was appointed to the role in 2011 and then re-elected in 2013.
"I'd like to thank Mayor John Guest for his 25+ years of public service to our town," Antoniewicz said in a statement Tuesday night. "He served on Borough Council as well as Mayor, and we appreciate all he has brought to our community. I appreciate that we each ran positive campaigns and were able to stay focused on what we can bring to Royersford. Thank you, Mayor Guest. I look forward to meeting with you to hear more about your experiences and insights."

Antoniewicz is a central Pennsylvania native with a bachelors degree in writing from Susquehanna University and a masters of science in education from Bucknell University. She served for several years as a school administrator there.
"As your newly elected mayor, I promise to be present and thoughtful about what it means to serve as a liaison between you and Borough Council. I promise to do my best to serve everyone in town, working with those who live, work, and play here to promote an inclusive community for all," Antoniewicz added.

The Spring-Ford School Director's race in Region 2 was won by Republican Clinton L. Jackson, who defeated Democrat Kathleen Drennan 54 percent to 45 percent.
Linda Fazzini (Region 1), along with Christina Melton and Tom DiBello (Region 3) all ran unopposed and were elected.
Meanwhile in Limerick Township, Democrat Patrick M. Morroney narrowly defeated Republican Thomas J. Lane for Supervisor. The race remained too close to call as of midnight, with only 75 percent of precincts reporting. Morroney ultimately prevailed with 51.45 percent of the vote, to Lane's 48.48.
Election results remain unofficial until certified by the county.
