Job Cuts Looming at SC Veterans Center
Spring City veterans center to cut 32 jobs this week

SPRING CITY — The Southeastern Pennsylvania Veterans Center will cut 32 positions within a week, a spokeswoman said Monday.
Joan Nissley, the press secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, said that throughout the week, employees are being notified that their positions are being eliminated. She said the notifications began last Friday and will likely end this Friday.

“The employees are being notified and they have time to decide if they want to bump other positions because of their seniority,” Nissley said. The bumping can occur because the jobs being cut are union positions.
Nissley said that 32 positions are being cut, although that doesn’t necessarily mean 32 people will lose their jobs, as some positions might be currently unfilled...
