Limerick Police Praise Public's Assistance In Wake Of Shooting

"While little optimism can be pulled from such a senseless tragedy, our department is very proud...of the community."

LIMERICK, PA — Following the shooting in the township on Friday and the ensuing suicide of the suspect, the Limerick Police Department expressed their gratitude to the public for their cooperation in the investigation.

Police said that several individuals who knew Gary Feldman, 30, of Harleysville, the man accused shooting his ex-girlfriend's mother multiple times last Friday, provided "unabated cooperation."

"They too were left scarred by his actions," police said.

Feldman told his ex-girlfriend that he shot her mother because "I wanted you to feel my pain," according to an affidavit of probable cause.

A $1,000 reward for Feldman's capture had been issued on Monday before his body was found a day later.

"While little optimism can be pulled from such a senseless tragedy, our department is very proud of the excellent support shown for the victim and her family by our community," the department added.
