'A Night For The Lukens Family' To Be Held At Valley Forge Casino
After the tragic Montco fire which led to the deaths of 2 children, a fundraiser for the Lukens family will be held at Valley Forge Casino.

In the wake of the devastating fire that left two children of a Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy dead, several local organizations are rallying together to host a fundraising "Night for the Lukens Family."
The Montgomery County Hero Fund, the District Attorney's Office Wheels of Justice, and the Irish Pub Children’s Fund are collaborating to put together the event. It will take place on Jan. 20 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Valley Forge Casino.

The devastating Dec. 13 fire in Schwenksville killed Bryan Lukens Jr., 11, and Parker Lukens, 6. Dep. Bryan Lukens, his wife Tracy and their daughter Soffia all were injured in the blaze.
Tickets are $30 for police, firefighters, and EMS, and $50 for the general public. Tables can be reserved for 10 people for $450. A "Chief Sponsorship" for $2,000 also provides recognition on the website and in materials, in addition to a table for 10.

The event will include food from dozens of area restaurants, drinks, performances by the band Wildflower and DJ Mike Valyo, a gift basket raffle, and much more.
The DA's office said that there will be special guest appearances as well; details on that are forthcoming.
An investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police revealed that the fire was caused by a malfunctioning extension cord for a space heater that sat on the porch.

A GoFundMe campaign has raised an astounding $340,000 for the family as of Tuesday morning. However, officials have noted that a portion of that money is taken by GoFundMe, whereas all of the money raised at the Night for the Lukens Family will go directly to the family.
Furthermore, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has also set up a Lukens Family Fund. One hundred percent of donations will go to the family.

The Lukens family asked the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office to share the funeral dates for their sons. Viewings will be held on Thursday, Dec. 21, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, and again Friday, Dec. 22, at noon. The viewings will be held at the Cornerstone Church of Skippack, located at 1326 Stump Hall Road in Skippack.
