Fatal Schwenksville Fire Caused By Extension Cord, Space Heater
Breaking: Authorities have determined the cause of the fatal Schwenksville fire that led to the deaths of two children.

SCHWENKSVILLE, PA — Authorities announced Thursday they had determined the cause of the fatal Schwenksville fire that caused the deaths of two children and a Montgomery County sheriff's deputy.
The accidental fire was electrical in nature, caused by a faulty extension cord that was plugged into a space heater on the porch of the home, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The fire killed Bryan Lukens Jr., 11, and Parker Lukens, 4. Dep. Bryan Lukens, his wife Tracy and their daughter Soffia all were injured in the blaze.

The fire, which occurred early Wednesday morning at the home on the 900 block of Summit Avenue, took hours to extinguish.
Tracy and Soffia Lukens were treated and released from Pottstown Hospital; Dep. Bryan Lukens remains in the burn unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital but is expected to recover.
