PA Businesses Get $13.5 Million In Additional Funding

The second round of a new coronavirus program will provide $13.5 million in support for 160 businesses around Pennsylvania.

PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania has disbursed $13.5 million in support to companies around the state as part of the second round of funding through a program aimed at helping the economy amid the coronavirus crisis.

The funds, awarded through the COVID-19 Working Capital Access Program, will support 160 different businesses in 43 counties statewide.

“These loans will help businesses in the commonwealth quickly access capital to address their critical needs while we continue to follow the governor and health secretary’s orders,” Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin said in a statement. “Small businesses are the fabric of our commonwealth, and the Wolf Administration is committed to supporting them to the fullest extent during this unprecedented time.”

Specifically, the funding is supporting a diversity of businesses restaurants, wellness centers, wineries, breweries, consulting firms, salons, and spas.

Businesses must apply for the funding. Officials continue to review applications and are working to provide funding to accepted businesses.

In addition, the Pennsylvania Industrial Authority has made $61 million available for a series of small loans of $100,000 or less, for businesses with less than 100 full-time employees.
