Spring-Ford Third Baseman to Play at La Salle

Cody Clarke is as quick to deliver a smile as he is a big hit for Spring-Ford’s baseball team.
And Clarke has plenty of reason to flash that grin these days, after having finalized his college choice.
The senior third basemen recently signed a letter of intent to accept a partial scholarship to attend La Salle University, where he will play baseball for the Division I Explorers.

Limerick Man Throws Sign Through Residence Window
The following comes from the Pottstown Mercury:
A Limerick Township man has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly throwing a real estate sign through the window of a home Sunday morning.
According to Lower Pottsgrove police, Chad M. Cook, 32, of the 500 block of West Ridge Pike in Limerick, threw the sign through a picture window of a home in the 600 block of Tanglewood Court around 3:12 a.m. Dec. 11.

Former Limerick Supervisor Guilty of Tax Evasion

As his trial loomed in federal court, a former Limerick supervisor admitted to evading hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes and now faces potential prison time.
David F. Kane, 39, most recently of Phoenixville, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Monday to charges of filing a false income tax return, failure to file income tax returns, tax evasion and mail fraud in connection with incidents that occurred between 2004 and 2008.

Spring-Ford's Scanlan One of Eight Honored at Football Night
The following comes from Barry Sankey of the Pottstown Mercury:
The Spring City Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest No. 34 celebrated its 70th annual Football Night Wednesday evening at the lodge home on Hall Street.
Eight players from Pioneer Athletic Conference schools and their coaches were honored at the banquet, with gifts presented to the coaches and players. Most players had family members in attendance as well.
The honored players included Steve Ambs of Pottsgrove, Paul Minninger of Owen J. Roberts, Jacob Gribb from Pope John Paul II, Dante Auman of Pottstown; Spring-Ford’s , Max Marcus of Boyertown, Perkiomen Valley’s Ryan Boyd and Vinny Nattle of Phoenixville.
