The finance commitee recommended purchasing one of the trucks outright to avoid the six-percent interest over three years, while the other vehicle would employ the three-year-with-interest plan. Each vehicle costs $31,213.38. The interest paid on the second vehicle would be around $1,872.80. The council passed the motion unanimously to purchase the two vehicles under the proposed plan.
