ROYERSFORD, PA — A Royersford resident has been named Dean at a local university.

Michelle Filling-Brown is the new Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the university announced this week.

Filling-Brown, who has a doctoral degree in English, was recently promoted to full professor. She's worked at Cabrini for over a decade, helpign to develop the Gender and Body Studies major and minor, along with helming various other student experiences.

“The experience and dedication Dr. Filling-Brown brings to the School and to the students radiates throughout our community,” Chioma Ugochukwu, PhD, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, said in a statement. “We value her insight and look forward to what she continues to accomplish in this well-deserved role.”

Filling-Brown's research interests as a professor include beauty culture and 20th century African-American women writers. She has won awards for both her teaching and scholarship, and also served as the choreographer for Cabrini's theater from 2015 to 2017.
