RYAN BREISH’S EAGLE SERVICE PROJECT BLOOD DRIVE
HELP COMBAT SUMMER BLOOD SHORTAGES - DONATE BLOOD - EACH UNIT SAVES THREE LIVES - COMMUNITY HELP NEEDED!

(Limerick, PA – May 07, 2014) --- Ryan Breish, Life Scout of Troop 230 in Limerick PA, will be hosting a community blood drive for his Eagle Scout service project at the St. James Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 93 Kugler Road and Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.  The blood drive will benefit Miller-Keystone Blood Centers.

 

Pre-registration is recommended but walk-ins are welcome.  There will be child care available at the blood drive.

The need for blood is constant, and the Miller-Keystone Blood Center needs to collect 500 pints of blood in daily to meet the needs of local hospitals. People can safely donate a pint of blood every 56 days. Donors can give double red cells at this blood drive and receive a free t shirt.

Donors must weigh 110+ pounds and be at least 17 years old, there is no upper age limit, and photo ID is required.  Tattoos and piercings must be at least one year old.

 

Donors are encouraged to eat a good meal and drink plenty of water prior to giving blood. People taking synthetic insulin, blood pressure, thyroid, and cholesterol medications, aspirin, antidepressants, or are on hormone replacement therapy can give blood. June 14, 2014 is Flag Day; therefore, bring your old American Flags and Cub Pack 230 will properly retire your old flags at a later date. All pre-registered donors on June 14th will receive an American flag, while supplies last!
