Spring-Ford To Dedicate 'Steve Bonetz Studio'

The beloved "Voice of Spring-Ford," who passed away this year at age 46, will have a studio named in his honor.

ROYERSFORD, PA — Steven Bonetz, the beloved "Voice of Spring-Ford," who passed away suddenly this year at age 46, will have a studio at the school named in his honor.

Bonetz, a 1990 graduate of Spring-Ford, was the founder of RCTV and a widely loved and respected part of the athletic department for years.

A ribbon cutting and dedication for the new Steve Bonetz Studio will be held on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will follow a tour of the new studio. (To RSVP, email ecrew@spring-ford.net)

"Steve will be remembered for his eagerness to mentor students and co-workers," the school district said in a statement. "His influence and excitement will continue to live on through RCTV, the Broadcast Program and the use of the Steve Bonetz Studio."

Bonetz went on to play baseball for Kutztown University, receiving a Bachelor's degree in telecommunications and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, according to the school district.

After a career as a sports reporter covering the Phillies, Flyers, 76ers, and Eagles, Bonetz began managing Spring-Ford's cable channel, Ram Country TV. He was in charge of producing video of sporting events, covering board meetings, and producing various district television shows.
