Spring-Ford Honors Two Faculty Members With 'Golden Ram' Awards for Excellence

Congratulations!

ROYERSFORD, PA – The Spring-Ford School District has announced the faculty winners of its first annual Golden Ram Awards.

The Golden Ram Award identified and recognized Spring-Ford staff members’ outstanding performance and commitment to education. Golden Ram Award recipients demonstrated an attitude of excellence, teamwork, and went “above and beyond” the expectations of their job duties. All staff members who were full-time or part-time employees, with one or more years of service, were eligible to be nominated by a co-worker, supervisor or someone from another department, according to a press release.

Mrs. Jean Lare, from Upper Providence Elementary School, and Mrs. Yvonne O’Dea, from Spring-Ford Area High School, were accorded the honor for 2016.

Lare leads the community's SNAP program and helps take care of the UPE pond. She "never complains, always wears a smile, and with quiet patience she deals with the most difficult of student behaviors," according to the district.

O’Dea, meanwhile, is a vocal teacher who helps students engage with composers via Skype. Parents and staff alike say that O'Dea goes out of her way to help students find their niche, "going above and beyond" for students on a daily basis. "As a fellow teacher, I am in awe of Mrs. O'Dea's commitment to her craft," one co-worker said.
