ROYERSFORD, PA — A Spring-Ford Area High School student has been named the recipient of a special $20,000 scholarship to Widener University.

The award was won by junior Lillian Evasew. The scholarship recognizes a student who "demonstrated courage by standing up for what is right, found a way to address a wrong, or make a difference in a significant way," according to the school district.

Principals of high schools from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware select winners of the scholarship each year.
