Spring-Ford Students Honor Teachers Who Made An Impact

Spring-Ford seniors will applaud the teachers, counselors and administrators who have made an impact on their lives.

ROYERSFORD, PA – Spring is typically when graduating seniors receive accolades. But in Spring-Ford Area School District, the seniors will applaud the teachers, counselors and administrators who have made an impact on their lives at the Annual Senior Impact Awards, which will be held April 21, according to a district press release.

The Senior Impact Awards ceremony honors individuals nominated by graduating seniors, who have been instrumental in making an impact on their educational experience. The Spring-Ford Educational Foundation sponsors the event.

“This is one of my favorite nights of the year,” Superintendent Dr. David Goodin said in a statement. “Our staff doesn’t often receive recognition from our students in such a grand fashion. The awards reiterate that what they do is important, and that they are impacting the lives of hundreds, sometimes thousands, of young people. These awards show the recipients that they are appreciated by their students."

More than 250 seniors submitted nominations this year, honoring nearly 120 teachers, counselors and administrators from Spring-Ford Area School District’s current and past faculty. Students can nominate any influential individual who has been part of the district at any time during their studies, including those that have gone onto other positions and retired.

On the nomination form, the students were encouraged to describe what the nominee did to make a positive impact in their lives. At the awards ceremony, students who submitted nominations will also be in attendance and will sit with the adult who has been a mentor for them. This event is known to be an emotional celebration that seniors cherish as they prepare to move on to a new chapter in their lives. It is also something our honorees look forward to each year.
