Upper Providence To Get $570,000 Water Line Upgrade

The upgrades will replace an aging water line dating to the 1920s, officials said.

ROYERSFORD, PA — Upper Providence Township is receiving a $570,000 water line replacement, and installation begins Monday. The upgrades will replace an aging water line dating to the 1920s, officials said.

Pennsylvania American Water is helming the project, which will require local road restrictions over the next several months.

Construction will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays from now until September, when construction is expected to be completed, officials said.

Crews will be installing roughly 2,900 feet of new eight-inch ductile iron pipe during that time, according to Pennsylvania American Water.

Installation will occur along Gay Street between 2nd and 6th Avenues, officials said.

It's possible that customers will experience temporary service interruptions while work is ongoing.
