Walmart Is Shutting Down Montgomery County Store
A long-running Walmart in Montgomery County will soon be gone.

EAST NORRITON, PA — The East Norriton Walmart is shutting down, the company has announced, bringing to an end the long run of an area staple.
An announcement was made at the store Wednesday indicating the closure, and signs were posted in the window of the store indicating the planned closure. The store's last day will be Oct. 25; the pharmacy will close Oct. 9.
There is no word yet on any plans to fill the vacancy, which is a major part of the development on 53 W. Germantown Pike.

There are two other Walmarts close nearby: on 650 S. Trooper Road in Norristown, and 275 N. Gulph Road. For customers in need of a pharmacy, the East Norriton Pharmacy is just down the road on 215 W. Germantown Pike.
According to a report in the Times Herald, the closure was due to the expiration of the building's lease. The company is reportedly hoping to transfer employees to other stores.

A liquidation sale began at the store on Thursday. The store's hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
