• Eli Lilly pharmaceutical plant in Upper Macungie takes another step forward (mcall.com) — A massive $3.5 billion Eli Lilly pharmaceutical plant just west of Macungie has cleared a key hurdle, with Upper Macungie supervisors approving its final land development plan. The 800,000-square-foot facility near I-78 will assemble injectable medications, including popular weight-loss drugs, and comes with commitments to address traffic and maintain tight on-site security.
   

• Chobani Plans Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, Production Operations (areadevelopment.com subscription) — Chobani is bringing a $1.2 billion production operation to Upper Macungie Township, a short drive from Macungie, with plans to create about 900 jobs and restart a major food plant. The project, backed by state loans and potential tax credits, will process billions of pounds of milk annually and could significantly boost the Lehigh Valley's dairy and manufacturing economy.
