Born into a wealthy family in New York City, Henry James was friends with the likes of Emerson,Thoreau and Edith Wharton. Dr. Sylvia Shaw (Professor at Bryn Athyn College) will explore James' Swedenborgian roots and possible connections to his fascination with internal struggles.
