So, you thought that when you visited the Jersey Shore you were standing at the edge of the continent! Accompany Executive Director David Robertson to the real edge of North America located along the Pennypack in Philadelphia's Holmesburg neighborhood. We'll carpool to the falls of the Pennypack, and then explore a little further upstream where the Philadelphia Water Department has installed a fish ladder to allow hickory shad access to spawning areas in the creek. Participants should be prepared to drive about 30 minutes from the Trust's headquarters to Holmesburg in northeast Philadelphia, or to meet the group at the entrance to Pennypack Park on the north side of Frankford Avenue.
