Huntingdon Valley entrepreneur co-chairs, FOX 29's Alex Holley emcees "Wine Women & Shoes" benefit

Grab your girlfriends, slip on your stilettos and raise your glass for a worthy cause!

Wine Women & Shoes® is back for year four, but heads to a new location, Sunday, March 12, 2017: Merion Cricket Club, 325 Montgomery Avenue in Haverford, PA, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Returning to the annual fundraiser as emcee for the third consecutive year, is FOX-29 “Good Day Philadelphia” co-anchor, Alex Holley.

The event, which benefits the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter will feature a Strolling Marketplace filled with boutique vendors serving up unique fashions and accessories; wine tasting stations; live and silent auctions, and contests. “Escape Winter, Follow the Sun,” a fashion show presented by Devon, PA-based Corle + Hand caps off the afternoon. Guests will also have an opportunity to participate in two “Key to the Closet” raffles. One lucky raffle ticket holder will win all the contents inside the “Flirty & Fabulous” closet, which will be bursting with designer fashions and jewelry, accessories, and more.

“The winner of our second closet, “Wine & Dine,” will be treated to exciting experiences like fine dining and wine tastings, golf excursions, spa pampering, shopping, and other experiences,” said Wine Women & Shoes committee co-chair, Rachel Black, of Huntingdon Valley.

During the event, Wine Women & Shoes’ charming "Shoe Guys," dressed in all black, will be available to assist guests with their shopping and wine tasting experience. One of them will also be crowned “King of Sole,” while one of several “Sole Sisters,” who have gone above and beyond to make Wine Women & Shoes the best event of its kind, will receive her “Queen of Sole” crown. The King and Queen will be chosen in advance by anyone who’d like to vote with their donation—large or not so large to the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter.

“This is a fun way to vote for your favorite Shoe Guy or Sole Sister and support a worthy cause at the same time,” Jennifer Unterberger of Newtown Square, who is also the event’s committee co-chair. “Even if you can’t make the event, this a great way you can still participate in Wine Women & Shoes.”
