Nominate your favorite redevelopment, rehabilitation or land development

Have a favorite land development or revitalization in Montgomery County? Nominate it for a Monty.

The Montgomery County Planning Commission is welcoming nominations for the 2012 Montgomery Awards.

The due date for entries is April 27. There are eligibility and nomination requirements and you can nominate online. You can find all the info by clicking the link above.

The Land Development category recognizes excellence in design and planning by recognizing successful land developments and planning concepts.

According to a press release, eligible projects can include residential, office and commercial developments.

Redevelopment and restoration, historic preservation, open space, park planning and community enhancements are all eligible as well.

The Revitalization category is for revitalization projects, stabilization programs, re-establishment of communities, new developments and building rehabilitations.

Streetscape improvements, Main Street programs and facade improvement programs are eligible.

The winning projects in each category will be selected by committees made up of Montgomery County Planners and Montgomery County Community Revitalization Board members.
