Wanted Montco Man Found Inside Stolen Vehicle: Police

Police said the man gave a false name multiple times before he was ultimately identified..

LOWER MORELAND, PA β€” A man wanted in Philadelphia was arrested in Montgomery County last week after police found him inside a stolen vehicle, they said.

The incident occurred on Jan. 22 on Philmont Avenue near Huntingdon Pike in Lower Moreland.

A silver Nissan Pathfinder was headed east when police realized its plates matched a stolen vehicle, according to officials.

They pulled the vehicle over and arrested the driver, Charles Parks, and spoke with two juveniles inside and a third occupant, Aaron McKelvy, 30, police said.

McKelvy gave police a fake name and fake date of birth, and avoided telling police his true identity on multiple occasions, authorities said.

When police brought McKelvy to the police station, they discovered he was wanted for a probation violation in Philadelphia.

He's been charged with flight to avoid apprehension, false identification to law enforcement, and related counts. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
