Located on two campuses, Friends Village provides independent living and personal care in peaceful settings embedded in residential neighborhoods. Our Paxson Campus is in the heart of Newtown Borough, close to shops, dining and local events. Our Styer Campus, on Lower Dolington Road, boasts raised-bed gardens and walking paths for resident enjoyment. The full calendar of resident-informed programming features lectures, wellness classes, discussion groups and cultural events to promote residents’ intellectual, physical and social well-being. If needed, Friends Village provides our residents with flexible, affordable support in their own apartments through its NeighborCare program. By using our long-tenured and dedicated staff, it is a home care service without the onerous minimum hours or uncertain staffing of agencies. And if care needs increase further, personal care is available in our historic Paxson Hall. What truly sets Friends Village apart is the warm sense of community. While residents remain connected outside of our walls, our small size and intentional approach ensure that each resident is known and know that they genuinely belong – they thrive, make new friends and live well. Girls entering 4th-8th grades are welcome to attend a five day volleyball camp hosted by the Academy of the New Church, July 24th-28th. Sessions will run from 2:00pm-4:00pm Monday through Friday. All skill levels are welcome. Cost is $75. The camp will be held at the Asplundh Field House - 2775 Buck Road, Bryn Athyn PA 19009. Glencairn Museum’s galleries are open for exploration! Join us this spring on the third Thursday of April, May, and June for three opportunities to wander, discover, and enjoy the collection above and below the first floor. From 4:00–7:00 pm, visitors can self-guide through spaces usually seen on guided tours, as well as some spaces that are often unseen! Staff will be on hand to answer your questions and help you find your way. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available on the first floor.
Please note that the historic elevator will be available for accessibility only, and the Tower will not be available.
