Bridge Shut Down In Montgomery Co. After 'Severe' Erosion Discovered
"Severe bridge scour" was found in a recent inspection of the bridge, officials said. It was originally built in 1930.

SKIPPACK TOWNSHIP, PA — The Evansburg Road bridge in Skippack Township has been shut down after officials discovered erosion during a recent inspection.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation described the structure as suffering from "severe bridge scour," typically caused by currents that wear away at the foundation of a bridge.
The 15-foot-long Evansburg Road bridge carries about 3,247 vehicles per day across Shady Brook Run. It was built in 1930 and reconstructed in 1971.
