Lower Providence Family Home Destroyed In Fire, Dog Missing

A campaign has already raised more than $15,000 for the local family as they recover from the devastating blaze.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — A destructive fire on Monday destroyed a Lower Providence family home and left their dog missing, and the community has responded in a big way.

More than $15,000 has already been raised for the Horoho's after the two-alarm blaze at their home on Vaux Lane.

While the residents of the home were able to escape, their possessions were largely destroyed.

"The family is dealing with recovery efforts and spent yesterday sifting through debris," states the GoFundMe page, which was launched by family friend Dakota Roeder. "They found some Christmas ornaments that the kids salvaged. The house has been condemned and the rain has not helped efforts. Insurance adjuster should be by today to get that process underway."

Boomer, their dog who went missing, was spotted two miles away in Oaks. Friends and police are on the lookout for him. His photo is included above.
