LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Lower Providence fire and emergency crews have received a major funding boost from the state, officials announced.

The Lower Providence Township Volunteer Fire Company will receive $16,137 and EMS will receive $15,000, State Sen. Maria Collett said.

“All of us deserve to feel safe in our homes, at work and in our communities,” Collett said. “We owe that sense of safety to the local firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and other first responders who have bravely answered the call to service.
