My First 200 Days in Office

I feel very honored to represent the 150th District and look forward to what we can accomplish with the help of the community.

As a freshman legislator, my first 200 days have been a complete whirlwind. I am so proud of what my team and I have been able to accomplish in my first few months in office and know that there is much more that we can do to serve our community.

I feel very honored to represent the 150th District and look forward to what we can accomplish with the help of the community. Here’s a look at what’s happened during my first 200 days.

I have had the privilege of sponsoring 6 pieces of legislation, including a bill that would better protect veterans’ discharge records to guard against scammers.

I’ve also co-sponsored 367 bills, signing on to support measures including one that would freeze seniors’ school district property taxes.

I’ve cast 637 votes in the House. Only some of those decisions draw attention, of course. But each one impacts Pennsylvanians in some way, and I carefully consider each bill and what it will mean for residents before I cast my vote.

My office provided 1,497 constituent services. As we helped with everything from SEPTA Key cards to tax rebates and birth certificates, it’s been an absolute pleasure to serve this community and meet so many constituents face to face.

I have had the opportunity to attend 183 community events and local meetings, and through these have had the pleasure of meeting many local leaders and engaged citizens. I cannot overstate how thankful I am for our community leaders, who put an incredible amount of work toward their townships every single day. It is through these combined efforts that we can truly further ourselves as a community.

My office has put on several community events since January, from Nutrition Field Days, community panels on Revitalizing Main Street, SEPTA Key Card and Veteran ID events, and a Cultural Awareness Panel on Islam in Our Community. My staff is diligently working on additional ways in which we can serve the community effectively.

I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to all 1,124 community members who have attended these events. Hearing your concerns and questions regarding our community is one of the highlights of serving as state representative.

Another highlight is serving on the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee. Through my 23 years serving in the U.S. Air Force, I’ve learned first-hand the challenges our military members and veterans face, and I want to use that experience to better serve their needs.

The committee shepherded through the legislature the PA GI Bill, which Governor Wolf signed into law in July. The first-in-the-nation program extends higher education benefits to the spouses and children of PA National Guard members who re-enlist.

Those who enter the military voluntarily put their lives on the line to keep us safe. We owe it to them to do our best to support them in return. Serving on this committee is my opportunity to work on their behalf – and to continue to express my gratitude for their selfless service.

I care deeply about the 150th District. I am proud of what we have accomplished and look forward to working alongside our community to continue making the 150th a better place to work and live.

I’d like to thank my community, my staff and, of course, my wife for a tremendous first 200 days. Serving this community is an honor and a pleasure.

As always, if you need help with any legislative or state issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my offices at (484)-200-6263. My staff and I are more than happy to help you!
