Outstanding Cadet Medal Awarded To Local Student

The Valley Forge Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution presented the DAR Outstanding Cadet Medal to Civil Air Patrol Cadet Captain Zachary Matys on Thursday May 14, 2026 at Heritage Field Airport, Royersford.

The DAR Outstanding Cadet medal recognizes outstanding student cadets participating in a non-ROTC or non-JROTC, military-affiliated cadet program funded by a school or private organization, or to a cadet in a police, fire, or emergency medical services (EMS) department volunteer training program. Zachary was nominated by Commander Maj. Evan Floyd based on his service, accomplishments, and leadership skills.

“We are proud to acknowledge the hard work and dedication Zachary has shown to both the Civil Air Patrol and his community,” said Valley Forge Chapter Regent, Deborah Stilley.
