LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA -- Pennsylvania American Water is changing the disinfection treatment process, and residents could notice a change in the taste and smell of their water, the township said.

The change is part of the ongoing work on the new pipeline system, officials said. Work began on April 12 and is anticipated to conclude on June 26.

Flushing will also be occurring throughout the township from April 17 through Sept. 1, and will usually take place from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the week. While flushing is occurring, residents nearby could notice discolored water for a short time.
