BSA Troop 153's Brent M. Reilly Earns Eagle Scout Rank

Brent Reilly completed an Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project for the Autism Cares Foundation in Southampton.

Troop 153’s Brent M. Reilly recently earned the highest rank in scouting- that of Eagle Scout. Brent completed an Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project for the Autism Cares Foundation as part of the requirements for rank advancement.

Brent led a team of 41 family, friends and fellow scout volunteers in an extensive project at the organization’s Southampton headquarters. In addition to the construction of 2 benches and filling planters at the entrance, the volunteers painted and built shelving for a large storage closet inside the building. They also removed a 30 x 30’ section of floor tile in preparation for the installation of new flooring. The project was completed at no cost to Autism Cares through donations from friends and family as well as gifts in kind from Lowe’s locations in Langhorne and Bensalem, Home Depot in Fairless Hills, Giant in Langhorne, Target in Bensalem, Shop Rite in Yardley, Walmart in Bensalem, Nina’s II Pizzeria in Feasterville and Sherwin Williams in Feasterville. Brent chose the project because he is on the autism spectrum and wanted to give back to the organization with which he is involved and which gives so much to the autism community.

Along his trail to Eagle, Brent has served his troop as Historian, Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. He has participated in Polar Bear Swim every one of the six years he has attended summer camp with his troop. Brent, was born profoundly deaf and wears a cochlear implant to hear in addition to being on the autism spectrum, earned his Eagle rank without modifications. He plans to earn Eagle Palms until he turns 18 next November.
