Car Catches Fire After Bringing Down Power Lines In Feasterville

The Feasterville Fire Company said it extinguished the fire on Philmont Avenue Monday night. Minor injuries were reported.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A vehicle caught fire after bringing down some power lines during a crash on Philmont Avenue Monday night, fire officials and police said.

The Feasterville Fire Company was dispatched at 9:30 p.m. Monday for a fire on Philmont Avenue between Street Road and Bustleton Pike.

Crews arrived on the scene to find the driver had self-extricated and the vehicle was on fire. Hose lines and foam were used to contain the fire., fire officials said.

Philmont Avenue between Street Road and Dolton Road was closed until PECO could restore their power lines. Minor injuries were reported and the fire was put out. Watch video of the car fire here.

The fire company thanked the Lower Southampton Fire Department No.1, Trevose Fire Company Station 4/84, Lower Southampton Police Department, Lower Southampton Township Fire Marshal Office, and Huntingdon Valley Fire Company for their initial response.
