Cooking Program Set At Southampton Free Library
The monthly program, What's Cooking at the Library, begins Jan. 5 with a program on Super Bowl snacks.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Are you looking to learn new recipes, try new kitchen equipment and taste new foods? If so, a new, monthly program at Southampton Free Library has got you covered.
"What's Cooking at the Library" launches at 2 p.m. on Jan. 5, focusing on Super Bowl snacks to help you get ready for the big game. Library staff will demonstrate how to make various Super Bowl appetizers, such as Buffalo chicken dip, hummus and mac 'n' cheese bites. They'll be offering samples for tasting. Those interested in attending can sign up online at the library's website.
February’s offering will focus on soup, with the library holding its first annual Souper Bowl on Feb. 2, the day before the Super Bowl. Library staff will be making different homemade soups for patrons to taste and you'll be able to vote for your favorite. The program will begin at 1 p.m.

Through the rest of the year, What's Cooking at the Library will explore a variety of subjects ranging from craft-beer brewing to vegan cooking to cake decorating. Most programs will be held on Saturdays, with a few on weekday evenings.
They'll be held downstairs in the library's remodeled demonstration kitchen.

"Libraries are places for lifelong learning, and our newly renovated kitchen allows us to expand on our programming in nontraditional and fun ways," said library director Kim Ingram. "I think our community will enjoy What’s Cooking at the Library — the beginning of many food and nutrition learning opportunities."
