The parents convicted of gifting their daughters to a Lower Southampton man were sentenced Wednesday.

The parents convicted of gifting their daughters to a Bucks County man were sentenced Wednesday.

Daniel Stoltzfus, 44, was sentenced to three and a half to seven years in prison. He pleaded no contest in April to one count of endangering the welfare of children.

Savilla Stoltzfus, 43, who pleaded guilty in April to the same charge, was sentenced to three to seven years in prison. The judge gave her a slightly lesser minimum sentence because she had cooperated with prosecutors, according to information from the District Attorney.

The Stoltzfuses, who have 14 children, admitted allowing all of their 11 daughters to move into the Lower Southampton Township home of Lee Kaplan.

According to authorities, Kaplan befriended the Lancaster County family and supported them financially. In return, the Stoltzfuses "gifted" Kaplan some of their daughters, authorities say.

Over several years Kaplan, 52, repeatedly had intercourse with five of the couple's daughters, fathering two children by one of them, and sexually assaulted a sixth, prosecutors say.

Kaplan was convicted of 17 felony sex crimes in June, including child rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault. He sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 20.

The situation was discovered in June 2016 after Lower Southampton police and Bucks County Children and Youth workers were called to check on the house due to concerns from neighbors.
