Gun Stolen In Trevose Car Burglary: Police

​A .380 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun was stolen from a car parked in Trevose early Monday morning, local police report.

A gun was stolen from a car parked in Trevose early Monday morning, local police report.

According to Lower Southampton Township Police, the report of the stolen .380 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun came in just before 5 a.m. A resident along the 1900 block of Grand Avenue reported it missing from the vehicle.

Earlier in the morning, at 1:35 a.m., police had investigated a report of a man trying to break into a car just down the road, on Somers Avenue. The man fled when confronted by the vehicle owner, police said.

Police described the suspect as being a white man, about 25 to 30 years old with scruffy facial hair, and blondish brown hair. He was wearing a dark hoodie sweatshirt, which was over a black and gray striped shirt.

He was with another man who was wearing dark clothing and was riding a bicycle.

The two men have not yet been located.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the men to submit an online tip here or notify Lower Southampton Police.
