Lower Southampton Couple Accused Of Theft Sought By Police

Police in Lower Southampton Township are trying to track down a couple they say was involved with a theft at a local grocery store.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON, PA -- Police in Lower Southampton Township are trying to track down a couple they say was involved with a theft at a local grocery store. According to police, officers were called to the Giant on Bustleton Pike on Sept. 2 for a report of a theft.

Video surveillance from the time shows a white female exit the store without paying for merchandise concealed in a shoulder bag. Police say a 23-year-old man, identified as Matthew Witherspoon from Warminster, then returned the stolen merchandise for a refund.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Witherspoon. Authorities are still trying to determine the identity of the woman.
