We asked Patch Readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:
- "Let us show some more support for our 43 PD police officers. They do a great job day after day risking their lives to keep us safe with little recognition. Let's change that."
- "Not having a light on Brownsville Road where the entrance is into Arbor Lanes Apartments is a safety issue. Or at the least, we need a stop sign."
- "Traffic in general. If you live in a neighborhood off of Bristol Road or Brownsville Road making a left turn is a nightmare. Often impossible."
- "Ruth Street - too many people cut through who don't live here. They don't obey the speed limit and often disregard the stop signs. Quite a few families who live on this street have young children, including myself."
- "The light at Bustleton and Woodland! Needs to be timed better for Woodland Rd. When it was first installed it was great, then they changed it and it takes long to turn green and quick to turn red!"
- "Great spots for writing tickets on Harding Ave and 5th. People fly through and there's not a stop sign on 5th. The people driving on Harding do not stop at their stop sign."
- "The circle on Trevose Road. No one stop or speeds. They need to do something there."
- "I moved here from Philly over 3 years ago. Compared to Philly, there are none. I have no complaints."
- "The circle. People do not yield! Was almost in an accident three times because they didn't yield!"
- "Car accidents on Street Road between Philmont and Bustleton."
