Man Used Restroom, Then Robbed Southampton Business: Police

Police say employees noticed the theft and, reviewing surveillance footage, recognized the burglar as a man who'd used the bathroom earlier.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Police in Lower Southampton are seeking a man they say asked to use the restroom at a local business, then came back that night to rob it.

Michael William Ferguson, 51, came in to use the bathroom at Wiggle Worms, a children's hair salon on Bustleton Pike, at 6:44 p.m. on Jan. 14, according to police. At 10:21 p.m. that night, video surveillance showed him re-entering the business through an unlocked door and removing cash from the register, police say.

Police say employees noticed the theft the next day and, after reviewing surveillance footage, recognized the burglar as the man who'd used the restroom earlier in the day.

Police say Ferguson has refused to turn himself in to authorities and his whereabouts are currently unknown. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lower Southampton Police at 215-357-1234.
