Pennsylvania State Police Reminding Drivers To Remove Snow From Vehicles Or Face Fines
If you don't remove snow from your vehicle, you'd better have over $100 ready to cough up.
Sometimes when winter weather strikes, you just want to get in your vehicle and drive without dealing with cleaning your car, right?
Wrong.
The Pennsylvania State Police are reminding drivers in PA that it is required by law to ensure your vehicle's windows are unobstructed by snow or ice.

$25? That's nothing, right?
Wrong again.
With with administrative and other fees added on, violators can expect to pay more than $100 for driving with obstructed windows.
While a $100 plus dollar ticket is still not a major punishment for most people, leaving snow or ice on your car can cause others injury, and that punishment is much worse per Title 75 § 3720.
"If snow or ice comes loose from your vehicle and strikes another vehicle or pedestrian causing serious bodily injury or death, you are subject to a fine of up to $1,000 for each offense," state police said in a statement.
Police said drivers should keep ice scrapers and snow brushes on hand during the winter months and also said drivers shouldn't "warm up" their vehicles as it violates the state's vehicle code and invites thieves.
