Some Pennsylvania Walmart Stores No Longer Open 24 Hours

Overnight shoppers in the area, be warned.

By Justin Heinze:

Walmart is reducing overnight hours at 40 stores this week across the country. Nine stores are in Maryland, while the 31 others are in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Some of the affected Pennsylvania stores will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight daily, Walmart spokesman Brian Nick told Patch. Adjusted hours took effect July 27, he said.

Walmart is making the change after reviewing the patterns of shoppers on a store-by-store basis, according to Bloomberg.

The company tested the schedule change this spring in more than 20 locations in the west, Nick told Patch.

“There will be additional stores that adjust hours in the future,” he said.

While the businesses are closed between midnight and 6 a.m., employees can restock shelves and take inventory, The Daily Journal reported.
