Road Work On Street Road May Cause Delays Beginning May 17

Expect traffic delays on Street Road in Upper Southampton and Lower Southampton townships starting May 17 due to resurfacing operations that are expected to last through mid June, PennDOT said this week.

During that time, there will be both overnight and daytime lane restrictions on Street Road between Willopenn Drive and Hoover Avenue.

Travelers can expect lane closures Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays through Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. through mid-June, PennDOT said. 

Street Road motorists are advised to use extra care when driving through the work zone and to allow additional time for travel because slowdowns will occur, PennDOT said.

This work is part of a $5 million project to repair and resurface deteriorated areas of the major thoroughfare in Lower Southampton, Upper Southampton, Warminster and Warrington townships.

PennDOT’s contractor will also install ADA curb ramps, new pavement markings and centerline rumble strips as well as upgrading pedestrian buttons at signalized intersections.
