Roofing Scam: Man Wanted In Lower Southampton

The homeowner had responded to a phony roofing-company flyer left at his home and paid $4,000 after signing a contract.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Police in Lower Southampton are on the lookout for a man they say used a phony name and ripped off a resident for $4,000 in a roofing scam.

The incident happened last year when police say the resident contracted a man who gave his name as Matthew Troutman to do some roofing work. The man claimed to be with a company called All Pro Roofing, which had been advertised on a flyer left at the victim's home.

The victim made what was supposed to be a partial payment of $4,000 after signing a contract and "Troutman" disappeared.
