Man Tries To Rob Bank Of America Customer In Silver Spring
Police need the public's help finding a man they say tried to rob a Montgomery County resident using an ATM in Silver Spring.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police have released a surveillance photo and video of a man trying to rob a Bank of America customer in Silver Spring. Authorities hope that the public can help identify the suspect.
The Nov. 6 incident happened shortly before 10 p.m., according to Montgomery County Police. At the time, a Montgomery County resident was depositing money at a Bank of America ATM on Outlet Drive. The suspect walked up to the machine, assaulted the victim, and demanded cash.
The surveillance footage shows the victim fleeing the area. Authorities said the suspect, who failed to steal the victim's money, was last seen on foot near Castle Boulevard.

The Montgomery County Police Department published the video — embedded at the bottom of this post — that shows the suspect trying to rob the victim.
Police ask that anyone with information regarding the suspect or this attempted robbery call the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6870. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call the county's Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A cash reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest or indictment.
