Troop 153 Scout Robert Fisher Completes Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project for Assumption BVM Church
Robert A. Fisher of Troop 153 recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout which is the highest rank in scouting.
Robert A. Fisher of Troop 153 recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout which is the highest rank in scouting. Robert chose to complete his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project to benefit Assumption BVM Church which is his troop’s chartered organization.
Robert led a team of volunteers to create shelving for the church’s food pantry with involved first cleaning out the rectory garage where the pantry is located with members of his troop. Once that complete, the group created and installed shelving in the space. Using a skill he learned at scout camp, Robert created a plaque dedicating his project to the memory of the Rev. William “Father Bill” McGeown.
Along his trail to Eagle, Robert served his troop in the capacities as a leader; he was Assistant Patrol leader, Patrol Leader and Den Chief to Pack 153. He served as Senior Patrol Leader twice and is currently a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. Robert is a brotherhood member of Order of the Arrow Ajapeu Lodge where he served as his troop’s Order of the Arrow Representative and as Second Vice Chief of the Playwicki Chapter. He attended conclaves at Fort Dix and Ockanickon Scout Reservation. He completed National Youth Leadership Training and is trained in First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Cold Weather Survival and CPR. Robert has worked for three summers in the Aquatics Department at Ockanickon Scout Reservation.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia Catholic Committee on Scouting recognized Robert for earning all four religious awards available to Roman Catholic youth in scouting- Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei, Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII. He was the recipient of a scholarship which allowed him to take part in the St. George Trek at Philmont Scout Ranch. There, along with scouts and venturers from around the country and Eagle Scout the Rev. Father David Friel he hiked the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

The son of Bob and Tina Fisher of Feasterville, Robert is a recent graduate of Father Judge High School where he played baseball and soccer. He currently plays first base for the Senior American Legion Baseball Team in Lower Southampton. He will study Actuarial Science at Millersville University.
