Wawa Customers Chased Attempted Carjacker: Police
Police have released details on Sunday's attempted carjacking and they say it's not the first time that's happened there recently.

Bensalem, PA- Bensalem Police have released additional details about an attempted carjacking that was reported Sunday evening. And they say it’s not the first one in recent weeks.
According to police, officers responded to the Route 1 Wawa at 6:20 p.m. for the report of an attempted carjacking at the gas pumps.
Police say a black male approached a woman as she was sitting in her car after filling her gas tank.

“As the victim attempted to close her car door, the suspect grabbed the door and held it open. The suspect then covered the victim’s mouth with his hand and told her to keep quiet as he attempted to force her out of the driver’s seat,” Bensalem Police said.
The victim fought back and honked her horn, prompting people nearby to intervene, police said. The other customers chased the suspect as he ran through the Neshaminy Interplex, police said.

The suspect is described as: a black male in his twenties, 5’-9” to 6’-0”, wearing dark pants, dark colored hooded sweatshirt, knit cap and gloves.
This incident is related to a carjacking that occurred at the same location on December 30 at 1:56 a.m.
“On that occasion the suspect produced a knife and ordered the male victim to drive him to several ATM locations in Philadelphia where he forced the victim to remove an undisclosed amount of money,” police said.
