Woman Charged After Bringing Daughter Along For Feasterville Shopping Spree: PD

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A 32-year-old Philadelphia woman has been charged with retail theft after bringing her daughter along on a grocery shopping spree, police said.

The Lower Southampton Township Police Department charged Shameka Brown of Philadelphia with summons offenses of retail theft, receiving stolen property, and endangering the welfare of children.

Police said Brown was captured on video surveillance as she entered the ACME located along East Street Road in Feasterville with her daughter at 6:58 p.m. on July 30.

Police said that Brown loading a shopping cart with beverages and also concealed some alcoholic beverages within her saddle bag and pocketbook.

After shopping she passed all points of sale and exited the store with her daughter without paying for any of the items, police said.

After being identified during the investigation it was learned that this wasn’t her first-time removing items from our grocery stores and leaving without paying.

On Oct. 9, it was later identified that Brown went into the Giant located at 176 W. Street Road in Feasterville and shopped for seafood items.

Brown then passed all points of sales and exited the store without paying for the food items. That incident was also captured on the stores video surveillance system, police said.
