Youth Orchestra Primed for Saturday's Fall Concert

The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County will present two shows Saturday - one for their junior and intermediate divisions, another for the advanced division.

The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County will present its annual fall concerts Saturday, with the junior and intermediate divisions taking the stage at Neshaminy's Maple Point Middle School at 2 p.m. and the advanced division performing at 8 p.m.

The first concert will feature three string ensembles - Prima Strings and Concertino, which make up the junior division and will be under the baton of  and Philharmonia, which is part of the intermediate division under the baton of YOBC's music director, Robert Loughran. The intermediate division's Wind Symphony (featured in the video that accompanies this story) and Flute Choir will also perform.

The evening concert includes the Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Flute Ensemble and the Symphony Orchestra. The evening performances feature Concerto Competition winners as soloists: Sara Dornblaser on French horn with the Wind Ensemble performing Strauss' Concerto No. 1 for Horn & Symphonic Band and Natalya Bondarchuk on cello with the Symphony Orchestra performing a selection from Elgar's Cello Concerto in E Minor.
