Chester County Authorities Warn Of 'Moneygram' Scam
Have you received one of these bizarre calls? Police want you to be on the lookout.

Borough police are warning the public of yet another new phone scam, this time involving the online money transfer service Moneygram.
Police have received numerous complaints from residents who have said that they gave their money to someone who called and said a relative was in need and to wire them money immediately.
“Please do not fall for these types of scams. If anyone you do not know personally is asking you to send them money via moneygram, prepaid gift card, etc. as a form of payment DO NOT DO IT,” police said on their Facebook page.

In Chesterbrook recently, Patch reported on the case of an elderly man who handed over $1500 to what he thought was his nephew. It turned out to be a scam.
“We have been receiving numerous calls from people asking what they can do to get their money back,” police said on Facebook. “And unfortunately once you send that money you will never see it again.”
