The extent of the damage was limited to the front of the building, according to fire officials. Authorities indicated that the blaze could have quickly become worse.
The blaze came as the area came off of a "red flag" warning of conditions ideal for fire.
"A Red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly," fire officials said. "Due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels - Any fires that develop may quickly get out of control and be difficult to contain."
The cause of the fire was not specified.
