Father 'Dared' To Shoot By Man In East Whiteland, Fires: Report

He believed the victim, an ex-convict, had been harassing his daughter.

EAST WHITELAND, PA -- A Tredyffrin man allegedly shot another man after the victim “dared” him to shoot, according to a report..

Shawn Pecora, 50, of Chesterbrook, believed the victim, an ex-convict, had been harassing his daughter, the Daily Local News reports.

Pecora reportedly went to pick up his daughter Devon at 12:30 a.m. on February 9, when she called her father and said she had gotten into an argument with Bryan Love, 30, the victim, and needed a ride home.

When Pecora arrived to the home on Markel Road, Love saw that he had a handgun, and reportedly said, “What, are you going to shoot me?” and stepped out of the truck and began pushing Pecora.

Pecora said he did not intend to shoot but Love continued pushing and insisted he “fight like a man,” the Daily Local News reports. That’s when Pecora shot him in the leg, once.

Love has been in and out of Chester County prison, including a three to six year sentence in 2012 for assaulting two West Chester men with a brick, the report states.

Pecora, a military veteran, has a hearing scheduled for March 7.
